What is CABI?

CABI is an information centre in Denmark focused on an inclusive labour market. ”CABI” is short for ”Center for Aktiv Beskæftigelses - Indsats” (Danish National Centre for Employment Initiatives).

CABI is an autonomous institution established by the Danish Ministry of Employment.

CABI carries out assignments for authorities, public and private companies, networks, civil society organisations and individuals.

Our aim is to inspire and initiate cooperation between public authorities and companies in order to establish optimal conditions for anyone with a work potential to be an active participant in the labour market.

Mission & vision

The mission of CABI is:

  • To offer analysis, development and information dissemination which may locally, regionally, nationally and internationally promote employment and an inclusive labour market.

The vision of CABI is:

  • An inclusive labour market with room for everyone to contribute according to fitness and potential.

CABI promotes such a labour market through a role as a visible high-quality centre servicing authorities and other parties requesting services related to the inclusive labour market and employment initiatives.



CABI's six focus points

CABI operates in the field between research and practical work.

  • CABI has a focus on tasks that are not carried out by others.
  • CABI concentrates efforts where they are needed.
  • CABI transforms knowledge and experience into action and change.
  • CABI makes knowledge and experience openly available for anyone.
  • CABI believes everybody has potentials.



What does CABI do?

CABI carries out assignments promoting an inclusive labour market with employment opportunities also for less privileged citizens.

CABI’s main focus is on citizens with a limited work potential and with problems beyond unemployment.

These citizens include:

  • People with physical, mental and social problems
  • People addicted to drugs or alcohol
  • Young vulnerable mothers
  • Refugees
  • Employees absent due to sickness

CABI consultants identify, develop and produce knowledge and experience, carry out analyses and evaluations and disseminate information.

Consultant assignments are carried out at central, regional and local levels for private and public companies, networks, civil society organisations and individuals.



What does CABI offer?

You may use CABI consultants as co-developers, catalysts, information providers, evaluators and researchers.

CABI offers services to any type of organisation – in particular, authorities and civil society organisations as well as public and private companies.

CABI consultants offer theoretical and practical knowledge about:

  • Development tendencies and new initiatives
  • Social and labour market policies
  • Cooperation partners, networks and resources
  • Social labour market oriented methods
  • New cooperation relations between public authorities and private companies
